Blog

Of course you did!
Finally, I went back to my room and a great nights sleep! I woke up, grabbed some coffee, threw my bags in my car and headed home.

“Some days are diamonds, some days are stones.”
I showed Alex where I was from on the map, showing him how close it is to North Carolina and South Carolina.

Go for it, I don’t need privacy.
I feel like I’m a frequent flyer but they have yet to recognize me. Instead I got a pat down going thru security in MV.

A symbol of hope….
A symbol of hope and faith - The appearance of a rainbow in the darkness is mysterious and powerful. And it is a message that even in the darkest situations, there is a little hope shining through. It is an encouraging message to never give up. And to have faith that everything will be alright.

Super smooth….
The landing was super smooth and I must say, as many times as I’ve laughed and rolled my eyes at women telling the pilot “great flight” when we land in that tiny plane, I found myself doing the same thing this time, except I said “super smooth flight”. It may take a while for me to get to “great.”

Wishing I stayed awake….
I wish I would of stayed awake the whole time! I could have learned so much more from Niamh.

Bloody Maria….
A Bloody Maria made with tequila instead of vodka. Who knew? A Bloody Mary sounded yummy but I could not imagine it with tequila. Ugh! He didn’t even offer me a taste, which I was totally offended by. He did try to encourage me to get one, as if he were in sales. He was not.

Learning new things….
It’s amazing how much you can learn from those you have known your entire life. Meet my older sisters, Tina and Kelly, although Tina used to lie and say I was the oldest!

Who’s the most important person in the world?
“Mom, I don’t know if you remember this but at one point you told me…. ‘Nobody is better than you but you are no better than anyone else.’ He told me I taught them to be accepting of others, no matter what…. Meaning their race, their religion, their past.

Why is he doing that?
Yeah sleep always sounds good on a flight. Yet, it is true…. it never seems to happen. Rowan pulled out his computer and book first thing. My thoughts: I don’t know why he’s doing that, he’s not gonna need those!

Gobble…gobble…
Yep. It’s me and the turkeys. I’ve named them…. Ted and Pablo. There are so many more but these two, are perched right outside my door waiting to be seen.

I closed my eyes…
“Great flight.” I’m thinking…. “Was it really? Maybe good but let’s not get carried away saying it was great!”

Crash and burn….
We said a few words and all I could see was my next soul shine so the idea of a nap was swept away in the clouds.
I told him I talk a lot. He didn’t seem to excited and was sure to tell me he’d be throwing on a movie and taking a nap. That plan of his crashed and burned……

Plans can change real quick!
My plans were to check into my room, grab some food and a drink at the restaurant/bar and head to bed early. Well, if you know me, plans can change real quick!

Damned soul in distress…
We bought each other a beer, shared some snacks and played a game on the monitor together. Come to find out, Eric was just as bad at trivia as I was, which was refreshing! He looked so much smarter.

It’s like riding in a Volkswagen…
So the whole time I’m in the air, I just kept thinking “Volkswagen”. It really did help!!

What the hell did I get myself into this time?
I couldn’t talk to any strangers and there was no nap on my second leg. All I could do was laugh. And no one could hear me because it was so loud!

Should we really call them victims?
First victim, Artim, 18 years old. Traveling from Atlanta to Boston for college where he is studying Business. He’s not really sure what he wants to do, as very few are at that age!

Cheers to more years….
I had no expectations, no real plan other than play in the rain and maybe ride horses because my great niece wanted to.
