Damned soul in distress…

My blessing from Boston to Atlanta: Eric, 27, from Boston heading to Atlanta for work. He’s in sales but he doesn’t sale, he writes the contracts. He seemed shy at first. I really didn’t think he was going to talk much even after I told him we were going to get to know each other real well by the end of the 2 1/2 hour flight.

He opened up quick after I wouldn’t shut up and was sure to tell me he’d never talked or had that much fun on a flight. I shared my Slim Jim with him. He shared his pictures from a trip he took to Portugal. Btw…. Absolutely stunning!

We bought each other a beer, shared some snacks and played a game on the monitor together. Come to find out, Eric was just as bad at trivia as I was, which was refreshing! He looked so much smarter. We laughed at the fact that I told him he was as dumb as me and we decided to play solitaire instead. We laughed that my daughter in law text and asked me where I was (she was tracking my location and it said I was in a field somewhere!) So happy they keep tabs on me! We laughed that my son text to make sure I wasn’t breaking any rules and had my phone on airplane mode. (I was using the airline Wi-Fi) He knows me so well!

Eric had never been to the Atlanta airport before so we walked together to baggage claim, gave each other a hug and said our goodbyes.

After a long night and morning (that’s a whole other story that involves talking to stranger Mark, getting on Veronica’s wrong shuttle to the hotel, her graciously dropping me off at the right hotel, her telling the staff to take good care of me…. India held up to the task!… and this morning convincing the Uber driver, Danilo, to jump my car off after I hitched a ride with him to the parts store to get jumper cables because I had a really hard time acting like a damsel in distress and road side service was 110 min away. Dakota told me I was a ”damned soul in distress”! I really am and they were all tipped nicely and even got a hug!), I’m finally home!
